It is not a place to write encyclopedia articles but a resource to help coordinate and organize article writing. Long story short, a WikiProject is a coordinated effort to help improve the quality of a specific family of articles and its contents, and in effect, improving the wiki. With the task being a group effort, accomplishing the project goals would be quicker and will produce better results. Coordination is the key to creating a much more efficient method of working and helps keep the momentum of the project going.
